Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, a digital art exhibition that has gained worldwide attention, has now arrived in Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa. The exhibition features more than 300 of Van Gogh’s iconic artworks across various thematic zones, showcasing the life and works of the influential artist. The exhibition begins with a winding route featuring self-portraits of Van Gogh, eventually leading to the first area dubbed ‘About the Artist,’ where visitors can experience Van Gogh’s works in different dimensions, including light projections and interactive installations. The Immersive Room, the biggest showcase in the exhibition, features digital projections lighting up the entire area, offering an all-immersive experience for visitors. The virtual reality (VR) segment and Sketch & Post area allow visitors to experience Van Gogh’s art pieces up close and create their own masterpieces.
The exhibition begins with the ‘About the Artist’ segment where visitors can experience Van Gogh’s works up close, including his iconic Sunflowers series and Wheatfield with Crows painting. The exhibition also showcases light projections on various object surfaces, providing a different dimension to how visitors view his work. The interactive installations, including the recreation of Van Gogh’s famous work, Bedroom in Arles, in real-life, allow visitors to walk and interact with the painting that has come to life. Visitors can also learn more about Van Gogh’s life story and his siblings, specifically his sisters, through anecdotes.
The Immersive Room is the biggest showcase in the exhibition, featuring digital projections lighting up the entire area, offering an all-immersive experience for visitors. The space provides chairs and cushions for visitors to relax and take in the enchanting sights and sounds. The virtual reality (VR) segment and Sketch & Post area allow visitors to experience Van Gogh’s art pieces up close and create their own masterpieces. The VR segment offers a 10-minute experiential journey, “A Day in the Life of the Artist in Arles,” while the Sketch & Post area allows visitors to create their own art piece and scan it onto a live screen for other visitors to view.
The exhibition ends at the thematic cafe space where visitors can indulge in some Van Gogh-themed food items made in collaboration with Janice Wong. The ice cream selection is inspired by Van Gogh’s varying works, and visitors can enjoy flavors such as Blueberry Starry Night. The cafe also offers beverages such as coffee and tea to quench visitors’ thirst after roaming the exhibition.
